Helping your fleet reduce its emissions
We’re helping our customers to lead the UK transport sector’s switch to renewable fuels. Our government certified Bio-LNG and Bio-CNG fuels from waste-only sources achieve a carbon emission reduction of around 80% compared to diesel.
The fuel is supplied to the vehicle just like standard CNG and LNG, but is derived from renewable sources making it biomethane.

Transparency
Bio-LNG and Bio-CNG fuels are subject to a mandatory quarterly audit under the governement’s RTFO scheme to demonstrate traceability from feedstock and that no double counting has taken place. In addition, customer fuel declarations comply with Zemo’s Renewable Fuel Assurance Scheme (RFAS), giving our customers complete certainty and transparency over their supply chain
Security
Gasrec’s Bio-LNG and Bio-CNG fuels are supplied by BP, a significant shareholder in Gasrec since 2021. BP’s backing allows Gasrec to offer long-term biomethane supply agreements giving our customers certainty over multiple truck lifetimes.
Environment
An HGV operating on Gasrec’s Bio-LNG or Bio-CNG will achieve significant CO₂ emissions reductions compared to an equivalent diesel vehicle. Gasrec’s biomethane is waste-only and certified under the UK government’s Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation Scheme (RTFO)

About the Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme
The Scheme aims to verify claims made by fuel renewable fuel suppliers to heavy duty vehicle and equipment operators regarding their product’s GHG emission savings and provenance of raw material feedstocks.
The RFAS works alongside the Government’s Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO), providing a mechanism for guaranteeing that fleet operators are purchasing bulk supplies of sustainable low carbon fuels.
